Getting Started

Now that you have downloaded the BusinessAgency theme in zip format from your members area. You can directly install the theme to your WordPress site. If you don’t know how to install, then continue reading.

How to Install?

Here is a video of How to install BusinessAgency theme into your WordPress.

Theme Options

Now we will take a look at the BusinessAgency theme options. To access this page, Go to Dashboard and click on “Theme Options” from the left menu.

— Global

  • Upload Logo – Click on Browse, Select the logo image file from your computer and then click “Save Changes”. Image dimension of the logo should be 300px × 90px  (300px in width and 90px in height).
  • Upload Favicon – Click on Browse, Select the favicon image file from your computer and then click “Save Changes”. Favicon size should be 16×16. (You can also use this favicon generators).
  • Analytics Tracking Code – Paste your Google analytics code here.
  • Copyright Text – Your Copyright info in footer.

— Slider Settings

  • Slide Image – Select an slider image, upload and click on ‘Select this image’. Makesure the image size is 960px width × 360px height. To disable a specific slide, Leave the image feild empty.
  • Slide Caption – This is the title shows on the side
  • Slide URL – When user clicks on the image, this is the link where he will be landed to.

— Homepage Settings

Action Box Options

  • Action Box – Turn it On or Off
  • Heading Text – Add Text that you want to show. Default text is “A radically different kind of business agency”
  • Learn More Text – Call to action button text. Default is “Text Written in Action Button”
  • Learn More Link – This is where that orange call to action button will go.

Feature Box Options

  • Box#1 Heading – Add the text you want to show on the top of image. Default text is “Mission Statement”.
  • Box#1 Image – Add the thumbnail to the box, Makesure the image size is 250px × 170px. 250px width and 170px in height.
  • Box#1 Link – Add the link where user should land on when they click on this box.
  • Box#1 Description – This is the description which displays below the thumbnail.

 

  • Box#2 Heading – Add the text you want to show on the top of image. Default text is “Who We Are”.
  • Box#2 Image – Add the thumbnail to the box, Makesure the image size is 250px × 170px. 250px width and 170px in height.
  • Box#2 Link – Add the link where user should land on when they click on this box
  • Box#2 Description – This is the description which displays below the thumbnail.

 

  • Box#3 Heading – Add the text you want to show on the top of image. Default text is “What We Do”.
  • Box#3 Image – Add the thumbnail to the box, Makesure the image size is 250px × 170px. 250px width and 170px in height.
  • Box#3 Link – Add the link where user should land on when they click on this box
  • Box#3 Description – This is the description which displays below the thumbnail.

— Fonts

  • Link Font Color – Default color of links across the website.
  • Link Font Hover Color – Default hover color of links across the website.
  • Single PostTitle fonts – Choose the font family for the title of articles (only for article pages). DEFAULT: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif.
  • Font size for Single post content – Choose the size of the content of article (only for article pages). DEFAUT: 15

H1 Font

    • H1 Font Family – Choose the font family for H1 in the posts.
    • H1 Font Size – Font size of H1 in the posts.
    • H1 Font Font Color – Color of the H1 in the posts.

H2 Font

    • H2 Font Family – Choose the font family for H2 in the posts.
    • H2 Font Size – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.
    • H2 Font Font Color – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.

H3 Font

    • H3 Font Family – Choose the font family for H3 in the posts.
    • H3 Font Size – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.
    • H3 Font Font Color – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.

H4 Font

    • H4 Font Family – Choose the font family for H4 in the posts.
    • H4 Font Size – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.
    • H4 Font Font Color – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.

H5 Font

    • H5 Font Family – Choose the font family for H5 in the posts.
    • H5 Font Size – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.
    • H5 Font Font Color – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.

H6 Font

  • H6 Font Family – Choose the font family for H6 in the posts.
  • H6 Font Size – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.
  • H6 Font Font Color – You can control how many related posts you want to display with this option.

— SEO

Global SEO Settings

  • Magazine3 SEO – If you wish to use 3rd party SEO plugins, then Disable the “Magazine3 SEO”.
  • Title – As the name implies, this will be the title of your homepage. This is independent of any other option. If not set, the default blog title will get used.
  • Meta Description – The META description for your homepage. Independent of any other options, the default is no META description at all if this is not set.
  • Keywords – A comma separated list of your most important keywords for your site that will be written as META keywords on your homepage. Dont stuff everything in here.
  • Seperator – This is the seprator between title & description.
  • Canonical – This option will automatically generate Canonical URLS for your entire WordPress installation. This will help to prevent duplicate content penalties by Google.

Homepage Settings

  • Home Title Format – Define the order the title, description and meta data appears in.

Single Settings

  • Single Title Format – Define the order the title, description and meta data appears in.

Index Settings

  • Select which archives to index on your site. Aids in removing duplicate content from being indexed, preventing content dilution.

Using Portfolio

First you have to create a ‘Portfolio’ page and selecting it to be a page template called ‘PortFolio’. Like below video:

Once you create a page with portfolio page template, then go to Portfolio from left menu and select ‘Add New’. In Portfolio, we have three types of posts output. Image, Slider and Video. The three videos below explains how to add them.

Using Menus (Navigation)

WordPress Menus allows you to add menus simply by drag and drop interference. You can find Menus by going in Dashboard > Appearance > Menus

WebBusiness theme has one menu called ‘Main Menu’. This video is very helpful in understanding the menus.

Sidebar Widgets

WordPress Widgets are designed to provide a simple way to arrange the various elements of your sidebar content (known as “widgets”) without having to change any code.

We have 4 Widget areas on theme. Homepage sidebar, Footer Block 1, Footer Block 2 & Footer Block 3

  • Homepage sidebar – The primary widget area on Homepage
  • Footer Block 1 – Footer Widget
  • Footer Block 2 – Footer Widget
  • Footer Block 3 – Footer Widget

Page Templates

WordPress can be configured to use different Page Templates for different Pages. Toward the bottom of the Write > Page administration panel (or on the sidebar, depending on which version of WordPress you are using) is a drop-down labeled “Page Template.” From there you can select which Template will be used when displaying this particular Page. WebBusiness theme has 2 page templates, Full Width Page and Archive Sitemap.

Full Width Page –  This allows you to have wordpress page without any sidebar.

Archive Sitemap – This page template allows you to get Archives which also works as sitemap. Some visitors really to browse articles in list view and archives really helps them.

You must be thinking why it says sitemap then? Well, archives is type of sitemap which helps crawlers to get most out of your website. You can use this page template which will really help you to get index fast in Google search results.
