What Works (and What Doesn’t) For Faster Metabolism

To know me is to know that I get bored easily, especially when it comes to diet and exercise (except for running, nothing could ever replace running). I’ll have great success on one program only to find myself seeking out something new to try. It’s not because this program or that program does or doesn’t work, I think I just like the process of starting something new, and I think my body likes the confusion that comes with trying new things.

Faster Metabolism

I hadn’t been following any specific plan for a while, other than eating as cleanly as possible, and then I was introduced to the Fast Metabolism Diet by my friend and hairdresser at my last hair appointment. She told me the basic concept behind the diet (which the author Haylie Pomroy says stands for: Did I Eat Today – love that) and I was most definitely intrigued to find out more.

Start or amp up your strength training: If you’re a cardio girl through and through, you’ve probably heard people telling you that you should add weight training to your routine. That’s because muscles burn calories at a higher rate than fat, so your metabolism will be getting a bigger boost the more muscle mass you have. Already incorporating strength training without seeing more results? Try amping up your routine, switching the type of workout, or adding a yoga or Pilates class to your routine.
