Mojang has revealed that it may one day bring Minecraft to the PlayStation 3, but a Wii U version is “unlikely”.
Speaking to iGamer (via Edge), Minecraft Pocket lead designer Jens Bergensten revealed that other consoles would be considered once the game’s exclusivity deal runs out with Microsoft.
“Microsoft has an exclusivity deal for consoles,” he said. ”When it runs out we’ll consider Minecraft for PlayStation, but Wii U is very unlikely.”
In the meantime the company is said to be focusing on refining the Pocket Edition of the game so it’s more in line with the PC version, particularly with reference to “so-called online multiplayer.”
