This past weekend were the not-so-secret nuptials of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin in Venice, Italy, a destination he loves (he owns a home in Laglio on Lake Como) and it’s the place where he has said the two met. It made perfect sense then for the pair to wed in such a gorgeous place. But where did everything take place? At the best of the best, of course. Here’s a rundown of the hotels where it all went down.
The Belmond Hotel Cipriani
George Clooney is no stranger to this hotel having stayed here for more than a handful of times over the past 15 years. He reportedly addresses all of the staff by name and has been known to get behind the bar to mix cocktails. He even helped create two custom cocktails with the head barman that you can order off the menu.
The Palladio Suite at the Cipriani
This was the luxurious suite where Clooney spent his last night as a bachelor. This suite boasts breathtaking 180-degree vistas, a private terrace complete with jacuzzi and plunge pool. Luxury like this doesn’t come cheap. Rates for this suite are about $11,534 CAD per night.
ORO Restaurant at the Cipriani
Designed by Adam Tihany and under the direction of chef Davide Bisetto, ORO Restaurant is the newest dining destination at the Cipriani and played a part in the weekend’s festivities.
