Read other blogs for inspiration

I always read other blogs to get blog post ideas. Sometimes, I just skim through their popular posts, and old archives to get random title ideas for my future blog posts.

The great thing about reading other blogs is you will always come up with a couple of headlines or blog post ideas that you can use on your websites.

Also, analyze the popular posts on your own blogs to know what is working well for you. Once you understand the type of audience you have, you can write headlines they are craving for.

Create a headline ideas folder

This is my personal tip to create great headlines. Whenever a headline idea comes into my mind, I immediately open a notepad (called headline ideas), and write it down.

“Why”, you may ask. The reason is simple, human brains don’t remember great ideas for a long time.

If you are reading something online, or skimming through a magazine, a great idea or headline sample may pop up on your mind. Don’t let go your ideas, use a folder or a notepad to write them down.

So whenever you want to write a WordPress blog post, you can simply open your headline ideas folder, pick any headline sample and start writing. It’s as simple as that.

Pro tip: Always come up with 3 to 5 headline ideas. Write different headline samples for every post you write. I suggest you to come up at least with 3 to 5 headline ideas for each post. This way you will be able to choose the best one among the remaining.

A weird tip to come up with hundreds of headline ideas

Use content idea generator to generate hundreds of headline ideas for your future blog posts. Although there are many title generating tools out there, I personally recommend you to use Portent.

Portent content idea generator tool helps you create great titles for any keyword you can think of.

Just enter the subject or keyword you want, and it will give you instant headline ideas. You can generate as many title ideas as you want until you get the best title for your posts.

In a nutshell:

Creating powerful headlines is not a rocket science. Even a beginner (or a non-prolific writer like me) can write winning headlines by adopting a few copywriting techniques mentioned in this guide.

Always do what works for you well. The headline formula that works for you best may not work for other blogger. So try different headline samples, test the above mentioned templates and you will find it easier to create winning headlines for your blog posts.
