Announcing new section on Magazine3: /web

Now that things at Magazine3 are getting stable, we have decided to release a new section called ‘Web‘ ( http://magazine3.com/web/ ). It is basically a blog where we share WordPress tips, useful plugins, business related advice… pretty much WordPress & random Internet related stuff.

We were planning to release something similar for last few months but it was too complex so we decided to start a simple blog where we share the articles and see how it goes and evolve it from the results.

We also would like to invite you to write a guest blog post on /web and be a part of Magazine3 community. We will feature the best articles.

We’re Hiring: Support Developer

Year 2012 has been hard yet very exciting for us. Our sale is growing consistently over the period of a year and so does the support queries. Since we focus on giving the best customer support, we are having difficulties in giving fast after sales support and we are looking for a Support Developer. Magazine3 is a team of 2 co-founders and now it is time to add 1 more developer to the team.

Required Skills

Experience using WordPress inside out.
Experience with HTML & CSS.
Knowledge of Basic theme development.
Experience with web developer tools like Firebug.
English language speaker & Communication skills.
Experience in creating video tutorials and documentation is a huge advantage but not necessary.
You must love helping people with their problems and go beyond their issues.

I have those skills, What’s next?

You will need to handle 10 – 25 support tickets a day. Takes about 4 – 6 hours depending up on your experience.
You can work from home or anywhere you are. You get to choose your timings as long as you get the job done.
Salary is negotiable and will be discussed privately with potential candidates.
You will learn selling, marketing, expanding, customer support and gain experience in them.

New Theme: ‘FoodBlog’ Released

We are very excited to announce our 10th magazine theme called ‘FoodBlog’. This theme is very important for us in many ways, One of the most important thing is that we have managed to release the new theme with in one month. Initially that was our main goal but we were never able to do it because of a lot of reasons. We have managed to release FoodBlog within one month while it used to take us 2.5 to 3 months. We have planned to release at least one theme per month.

We have decided to create a page specially for our customers. We are calling it ‘Customer Wall’. We are planning to have the name, picture and something about you.

If you are a Magazine3 customer and like to get featured on customer wall page, then here what we need:

Your Name.
A photo of you (or your team).
Your Website url.
Your City & Country.
Profession. (for example: Photographer, Blogger, Teacher, etc,.)
2 – 3 sentence about yourself and about your business.

Apologize for the downtime & delay in Support

There has been some major server issues with our web host Vps.net. Magazine3 was down for 12 hours and is still unaccessible from few countries.

They have recovered 98% percent of the sites that were on the server but in that process, there has been some data loss. So if you can’t find your account in members area or if your support ticket is not updated, We apologize for that and please send your emails at sales@magazine3.com

Support team will be Unavailable Jan 21 – Feb 2

Customer support team will be unavailable due to unavoidable circumstances January 21 through February 2. During this unavailability period, customer support will be limited to documentation that comes with the theme.

Our main Support guy (Steve) is having some serious health issues and he is taking leave for the treatment. Since we are a small team we have very limited availability. It will still be possible to send in tickets, but you should not expect any replies. Our team will begin work as usual on Thursday the 2nd of February 2011 (10 AM IST)

Our mail server will remain open to receive your email. We request you to bear with us in this situation we can understand your frustration and your business but your patience is highly appreciated.

New Theme: ‘ProBlog’ Released

We released ProBlog on 24th dec, but the team was on vacation so we delayed this blog post for few days. Also we were working on the restructure of the website, so that took us even more time that we expected.

ProBlog has the Magazine3 Framework V4 backend, which will be the core default of all the future themes. We are also introducing the great use of Posts Formats on homepage for the first time in WordPress. NewspaperTimes Update Available – Version 2.0 Released!

We just released NewspaperTimes version 2.0 about an hour ago. This update was getting delayed because of some unavoidable circumstances. 12 new features & around 10 bugs have been fixed in this update.

How do i Update my theme?
If you purchase the theme, You will get the updated version by default. But if you are already a NewspaperTimes user, then you have to manually update the theme. Just download the theme from your download area and read the instructions.html file, which is located at themefolder/update/instructions.html. We have already reset the download counters for existing customers, So you can download again.

SportsMag is now live on the site, Actually we released SportsMag about 3 days ago but we were busy with fixing bits & bytes of Support area and stuff. With the release of SportsMag, we have updated our core framework & also redesigned the Options panel of the theme.
