Edit Flow is a free open-source plugin that is maintained by few developers and Automattic itself. Edit flow has been used by many major publications, most notably by Atlantic Media’s Quartz or QZ.com. WordPress.com is using it for their VIP customers and it is an important part of their product. Edit flow makes it easy for you to collaborate with your team, which results in a productive editorial team.
Important Features of EditFlow

I can’t tell you enough how important it is to manage an editorial workflow. Ideally, you should have all the content prepared for the next one or two weeks and this is where the importance of Calendar comes in play.
You can see the weekly and monthly overview of the content. It gives you a bird-eye view of your current progress. You can easily identify the content that needs more work. If there are articles which are not ready to publish, then you can delay them from a drag and drop user interference.
